Ontario Ombudsman André Marin will release his latest special report on Tuesday, August 10 – at a news conference at 11 a.m. in the Queen’s Park Media Studio.
He will report on his investigation into the decision-making process of the Hamilton Niagara Haldimand Brant Local Health Integration Network (HNHB LHIN), including its approach to its mandate of “community engagement” in dealing with proposals for the restructuring of health services in Hamilton and the Niagara region.
Prior to the news conference, there will be a technical briefing for journalists from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 p.m. in Committee Room 230, where copies of the Ombudsman’s report will be available to the media and stakeholders (under embargo until the news conference). Senior members of the Ombudsman’s staff will be available to answer questions on background. Journalists who are not members of the Queen’s Park Press Gallery are asked to report to Room 387A of the Legislative Building for passes, or call Gerald Christopher at 416-325-7922. Journalists who are unable to attend the briefing may arrange to have embargoed materials sent to them electronically (see Communications contacts below).
When the news conference begins at 11 a.m., the full report and media materials will be posted online at the Ombudsman’s website, www.ombudsman.on.ca . During the news conference, live updates will be posted at the Ombudsman’s Twitter account – www.twitter.com/Ont_Ombudsman.
